PODIUM

The PODIUM speaker stand has been especially developed as an ideal, perfectly rigid column for the Kiso Acoustic HB-1 loudspeaker system. It comes permanently assembled, and except for adjustment of the tripod feet, the stand as a whole cannot be disassembled.

The HB-1 works best when the center of the tweeter is approximately 10 - 15cm lower than ear height when seated; i.e. a bit lower than most loudspeaker systems.

The top plate of the PODIUM stand mimics the footprint of the HB-1 loudspeaker. The height of the PODIUM has been made to place the HB-1 speaker at the correct listening height when the listener's ears are 95cm (+/-5cm) above the floor (i.e., when the listener is seated).

4 clear gel insulators supplied with each HB-1 loudspeaker(8 total for a pair of speakers) are placed at each corner of the PODIUM's top plate so they come in between the speaker and the top plate of the stand.

A further 6 larger size clear gel insulators are supplied with each pair of PODIUM stands to be used between the adjustable feet of the stands and the floor. However, since there are different floor materials (and carpets etc), the user is encouraged to experiement with our without these insulators to obtain the desired result.

FRONT GUARD

The "Front Guard" is an optional front panel for the HB-1 loudspeaker with built-in magnets that pulls towards the mounting screws of the drive units. The Front Guard is made of solid, precious Hawaiian Koa wood. The Front Guard can either be placed directly on the front of a bare HB-1 loudspeaker or on top of the front section of the HB-1 when covered with the cloth hood (which is supplied with each HB-1).

The Front Guard protects the fragile driver units when not in use, or when you move the speaker around by hand (but it is not intended for shipping and transportation). It is also highly decorative; so the HB-1 transforms into a sculptured object of art while not in use as a loudspeaker.
